@ocifant: Well yes. I can be mobile without moving a muscle... :)
The claim "you can be mobile" qualified by "with built-in wifi" surely implies that the site is suggesting a mobile internet connection, no?
In my (admittedly twisted) mind, wifi = tethered while 3G = mobile.

@edythemighty: Should be doing about 100mph between the stations... :-) I've heard that coverage is pretty good on the Paddington line but if you head towards Westbury you lose signal before Bradford on Avon.

The comments to the article seem to have far more clue than the author. In particular: "It's clear that a large part of the reason why people use BitTorrent is because the overall user experience is far better. Download fast with a robust, desktop app and no commitment (BitTorrent) vs download slow, with unreliable web browser and give-us-your-details marketing crap" So nothing to do with 'free-er than free'...

I suspect I'll be dumping 3UK in the coming months for much the same reasons -- poor coverage, weird signal switching and lousy tech support.
If you'll excuse the piggy-backing, I'm interested in identifying the most consistently reliable payg 3G broadband provider, particularly outside metropolitan areas.
While the price will have a bearing on my decision, I want a decent connection wherever I go (within reason!)
I'm guessing VF?

@carlplage: And I'd still not be guaranteed a bloody seat! Really peed me off to work out that it would only cost about £60 to drive (while wrecking the planet).

@danlane: Last week I checked the price of a return to Liverpool from Bath in 5 weeks -- it was over £160, and that was cattle class! :-o
